Nydia is a civil litigator focusing her practice on complex commercial litigation, including commercial, business, bankruptcy and securities litigation. Nydia has extensive experience managing and supervising all aspects of litigation in federal and state courts, including trial preparation, conducting discovery and depositions, directing settlement negotiations, conducting internal investigations and advising clients on various commercial and business-related matters.
Prior to serving as counsel to John Murphy and Associates, Nydia started her legal career as an associate at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP where her representation included large financial institutions, multinational corporations and retail corporations. She has also worked as a volunteer attorney for the New York State Attorney General’s Office of the Civil Rights Bureau.
Nydia was honored by the Legal Aid Society with the 2012 Pro Bono Award for winning asylum for her client in immigration removal proceedings. She is active in professional bar associations and served as the 2014 Vice President of Sponsorship and Gala Chair for the South Asian Bar Association of New York.
